Ken Elefant, Managing Director Sorenson Capital  Ken joined Sorenson in 2017 and leads the firm’s early-stage technology practice. enjoys working closely with entrepreneurs to help them attack new market opportunities and gain access to key initial customers and partners. His efforts have led to recognition as one of the most connected names in tech.  Before joining Sorenson, Ken was Managing Director at Intel Capital and VP at Intel Corporation. Leading the software and security groups at Intel Capital, Ken invested in several market-leading companies including AtHoc (Blackberry), Prolexic (Akamai), Carbon Black, DocuSign, Forescout, AlienVault, Venafi, Vectra Networks, Gigya, BrightEdge, among many others.  Prior to Intel Capital, Ken was a founding general partner at Opus Capital. While at Opus, he served on the boards of Spock Networks (Intelius), Transpond (Webtrends), Supersecret (Knowledge Adventure), Alert Enterprise, Jivox, and TrustedID (Equifax). Previously, Ken was a Senior Associate at both Lightspeed Venture Partners and Battery Ventures. Before business school, Ken worked at Radius, Claris Corporation (the software subsidiary of Apple), and RealNetworks.  Ken received an MBA from Harvard Business School and holds a Bachelor of Science in economics from the Wharton School of Business. He is a Kauffman Fellow.

Miriam Rivera,CoFounder/Managing Partner Ulu Ventures  Ulu Ventures is a top performing seed IT fund focused on enterprise companies.  Ulu's entrepreneurs are among the most diverse in VC-backed companies with over 20% women CEOs, 23% minority CEOs and 9% underrepresented minority CEOs.  Rivera is also the co-founder of Stanford Angels & Entrepreneurs, has taught in the Stanford Technology Ventures Program on start-up board issues and been a mentor in entrepreneurship at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.  Miriam earned the AB, AM, and JD/MBA degrees at Stanford University. Miriam is also a Kauffman Fellow in venture capital.  Prior to Ulu Ventures, Rivera was Vice President/Deputy General Counsel at Google and, post-IPO: Secretary to the board of Google.org, a member of Google's disclosure committee, and Assistant Secretary to the board of Google Inc.  Rivera has served on the Board of Visitors of Stanford Law School, the Dean’s Advisory Council for the Stanford Graduate School of Business and Stanford University’s Board of Trustees, as well as an advisor to the Rock Center on Corporate Governance Venture Capital Director's College.  She is currently a member of the Stanford Law School Venture Fund and Stanford's Lead Council.  She is also a recipient of the Stanford Medal.

MODERATOR: Don Oparah, CEO Venture Aviator, an innovative software development firm based in Los Angeles and New York. In this role, he has overseen the successful design, development and launch of dozens of digital platforms and products in the e-commerce, web and mobile space ranging from venture-backed, award-winning start-ups to large enterprises like Cisco and Allianz. Oparah holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Cambridge University in the UK, an MBA in entrepreneurship from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, and recently founded and ran a University of California technology venture incubator (20+ ventures). He also worked at Agilisys, a top tier London-based IT and strategy consulting firm, and was part of the management team that led the company through a significant global growth phase (from under 100 to over 1000 employees worldwide in less than two years) serving both blue chip and start-up clients. Oparah is a TED speaker and is frequently invited to serve as a guest panelist and speaker at universities and entrepreneurial events
